Dusts

Dust-excluding ignition-proof 'DIP'

The term 'DIP' has changed to "Dust-protected" and "Dust Tight". With the change to the IEC dust standards, the basic requirements deal, primarily, with the ingress of dust and the development of heat. Ingress of water can still be covered at client's request so that, added to IP5X or IP6X, the certification can carry IP55 or IP65 or IP66 etc. following successful water tests.

The Zones of hazard are Zone 20, Zone 21 and Zone 22. The Standard for Zone 20 has yet to be issued. A review of the Standards includes for a General Requirements Standard, IEC 61241.0, to take into account the common items for all types of dust protection techniques.

We will also consider test requirements to other standards or similar tests as required, please use the enquiry form.
