Testing includes: -

Minimum Explosive Concentration (MEC)
Lower Explosive Limit (LEL)

The minimum dust cloud concentration (MEC) or gas or vapour (LEL) in air below which the dust or fuel is unlikely to explode.

Limiting Oxygen Concentration (LOC)

The oxygen concentration in air below which the dust cloud or fuel may become inert.

Pmax

The maximum pressure, usually expressed in bar (gauge), found when tested over a range of dust cloud concentrations.

Kst or Kg

The normalised maximum rate of pressure rise, usually expressed in bar.m/sec, found when tested over a range of dust cloud or fuel concentrations.
