Ray has extensive experience at TestSafe of in situ non-destructive testing of wire ropes. He has been delivering these services to underground coal mining companies, ski-fields, and even to the spillway gates of Sydney's Warragamba Dam for almost 20 years. He holds additional qualifications in fitting, machining and toolmaking, and during his career has worked for a wide range of companies in supervisory and managerial capacities.
He is a NATA signatory for Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing of wire ropes, and is a member of AS ME007, Steel Wire Ropes.
He takes particular pride in his involvement with the design, development and commissioning of bulk materials handling components, systems and projects as well as the world's first "rack-adhesion" locomotive used in underground coalmines.
