Bill has amassed more than 33 years of public service with TestSafe and is widely recognised particularly by the coal mining industry as a "rope doctor" …. one of the foremost specialists in the destructive testing and assessment of wire ropes. He is currently a NATA signatory for a wide range of mechanical tests involving wire ropes; trolley jacks, lifting gear including slings and shackles, scaffold couplings, and portable ramps.

In the course of his employment, Bill has conducted specialist investigations of wire rope failures on portable cranes, builder's hoists, lift, car hoists, and in underground coalmines.
