International (Ex) certification
We successfully completed the IECEx assessment process and are accepted as an ExTL (testing laboratory) and ExCB (certification body) as well as certifier of service facilities.
We are able to provide our clients with:
- an IECEx test report (ExTR)
- an IECEx quality assessment report (QAR)
- and an IECEx Certificate of Conformity
The IECEx System, similar to the ANZEx Scheme, is a quality-based scheme that requires a test report (ExTR) and a quality assessment report (QAR) in order for a certificate of conformity to be issued.
QAR recipients must complete a successful on-site assessment of a manufacturer's quality system and manufacturing capability. Once certification is issued, maintenance is through surveillance audits of the manufacturer that are conducted at least every 12 or 18 months, depending on whether the manufacturer holds current ISO 9001 (or similar) certification with an appropriate scope.
Service facilities (repair and overhaul) must complete a successful on-site quality assessment, which includes staff competency assessment. Surveillance audits are conducted at least every 12 months.
Our staff are trained to conduct on-site quality audits under the IECEx, ANZEx and ATEX framework.
The IECEx Conformity Mark Licensing System means manufacturers that have obtained IECEx certification from TestSafe can place a conformity mark on their equipment.
What we can and can't do is specified by the IECEx management committee and can be found on the IECEx website.
The general rules and policies of the IECEx system can be found in:
- the IECEx 01-Basic Rules
- IECEx 02-Rules of Procedure for Equipment
- IECEx 03-Rules of Procedure for Service Facility (repair and overhaul)
- IECEx 04-Rules for Conformity Mark Licensing System
- the various IECEx Operational Documents (OD).
These are all available on the IECEx website.
