Shotfirers and circuit testers for coal mines
Shotfirers and circuit tester inspections are carried out on devices that are used to trigger explosives in underground and above ground mines.
These devices include:
- circuit testers
- shotfirer testers
They are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 3800 & AS 2187.2 Appendix B.
The NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 – Registration of Shotfiring Apparatus Design Order 2018 – requires all testing and assessment to be carried out by a laboratory in Australia that is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA).
TestSafe is NATA accredited for the inspection and repair of shotfiring apparatus, including circuit testers, exploders and exploder testing devices for use in underground coal mines in NSW.
